Warm cornbread, garlic bread or just Italian bread would be great along side a bowl. If you want a kick to your soup add a spicier sausage. I often cut this recipe in half since it is just my husband and I. Choose just one or two cans of beans instead of halving each can. Enjoy! <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/stirmypot.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/100_30661.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/stirmypot.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/100_30661-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Italian Sausage Soup\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1153\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stirmypot.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/100_30661-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/stirmypot.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/100_30661-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n1 (16-oz.) pkg. sweet Italian sausage, casings removed<br \/>\n1 yellow onion, chopped<br \/>\n1 C. minced celery<br \/>\n1 C. minced carrot<br \/>\n3 (14-oz.) cans beef broth<br \/>\n2 (14.5-oz) cans diced tomatoes with basil, oregano, and garlic<br \/>\n1 (16-oz.) can red kidney beans, drained<br \/>\n1 (16-oz.) can light red kidney beans, drained<br \/>\n1 (15.5-oz.) can great northern beans, drained<br \/>\n2 C. ditalini pasta (short tubes)<br \/>\n1 tsp. salt<br \/>\n1 tsp. ground black pepper<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-indent:.25in;\">In a large Dutch oven, cook sausage, onion, celery, and carrot over medium-high heat until sausage is browned and crumbles. Drain well. Stir in broth, tomatoes, and beans; bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat, and simmer for 20 minutes. Add pasta; simmer for 8-10 minutes, or until pasta is tender. Stir in salt and pepper.
