When preparing this sauce for pasta I always add ground beef.  I first cook the ground beef until it is no longer pink and then add the onions, bell pepper and garlic and go from there.  If you&#8217;re in a hurry this is still a quick sauce to make since simmer time is up to you.  Enjoy!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/stirmypot.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/100_25991.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/stirmypot.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/100_25991-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Spaghetti Sauce\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-693\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stirmypot.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/100_25991-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/stirmypot.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/100_25991-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n1 Tbsp. olive oil<br \/>\n1 small onion, diced<br \/>\n1\/2 med. green bell pepper<br \/>\n1 garlic clove, minced<br \/>\n28 oz. can crushed tomatoes<br \/>\n8 oz. tomato sauce<br \/>\n3 oz. tomato paste<br \/>\n2 1\/2 tsp. sugar<br \/>\n1 1\/4 tsp. salt<br \/>\n1 1\/2 tsp. oregano<br \/>\n3\/4 tsp. basil<br \/>\n3\/4 tsp. pepper<br \/>\n1\/4 tsp. fennel seed<br \/>\n2 bay leaves<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-indent:.25in;\">Heat olive oil in a large saucepan; add onion, bell pepper and garlic and saute until tender.  Add remaining ingredients and simmer for as long as you would like.
